Voice over rates per word

Voiceover rates per word can vary widely depending on factors such as the type of project, usage rights, the voice actor's experience, and the market. As of my last update in September 2021, the rates could range from as low as $0.03 per word for non-professional or entry-level voice actors to as high as $0.50 or more per word for experienced professionals working on high-profile projects.

Here's a rough guideline for voiceover rates per word:

  1. Non-Professional/Beginner: $0.03 to $0.10 per word
  2. Emerging/Intermediate: $0.10 to $0.25 per word
  3. Professional/Experienced: $0.25 to $0.50 per word
  4. Premium/High-Profile: $0.50+ per word

Keep in mind that some voice actors might charge based on the word count in the script, while others might charge per finished hour (PFH) of recorded audio. The PFH rate accounts for the time spent recording and editing the final audio.

It's essential to research industry standards and compare your skills and experience with those of other voice actors to determine the appropriate rate for your services. Additionally, consider the scope and usage of the project, as certain projects might warrant higher rates due to their visibility and reach.

Lastly, remember that rates can be negotiated with clients based on their budget and the value you bring to the project. As you gain more experience and build a reputation, you can adjust your rates accordingly to reflect your expertise and demand in the market.
